Information of dubious interest

We are based in Calgary, AB, Canada, within Treaty 7 Land.  This region is the unceded traditional territory of the Blackfoot and the people of Treaty 7 Region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Siksika, the Piikuni, the Kainai, the Tsuu T'ina and the Stoney Nakoda First Nations and home to the Metis Nation of Alberta, Region III. We sit at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow rivers, a place the Blackfoot people call “Moh’kins’tsis”. It's a beautiful place.

Flemish Eye is an independent record label that started out by releasing Chad VanGaalen’s ‘Infiniheart’ in 2004. Since then, the label has gone on to release another 35+ albums — many of which are actually pretty good.

Damn it, I knew you'd ask about this. Here's the deal: Flemish Eye is a small label mostly devoted to Canadian music. We keep our little family pretty small, and are already pretty busy. For this reason, we don't accept demos. Thanks for thinking of us though!

The On Canada Project  has some excellent resources for learning about the history of this region and our responsibility as settlers.
